Remembrance at Exeter Cathedral

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Exeter Cathedral will become the focus for the city’s commemoration of the Armistice.

A short service of Commemoration, which begins at 10.45 on Saturday 11th November 2017, will mark the occasion, with music provided by the University of Exeter Chapel Choir. It follows the dedication of the Field of Remembrance on Cathedral Green.

The Cathedral’s service for Remembrance Sunday takes place on 12th November at 11.30.

34,000 poppies are on display inside the Cathedral as part of an installation to remember those from the south west who lost their lives in the First World War. The Cathedral’s stonemasons have also added poppies to the East Gable of the building, high about Cathedral Green.

Please note: there is no parking available at the Cathedral (including permit holders and pay & display) on Remembrance Sunday.
