New members of the Choral Foundation

Choral Evensong on Sunday 9th September 2018 includes an important ceremony. We will be welcoming and formal ‘installing’ new Choral Scholars and the Organ Scholar.

James in his 3rd year at the University of Exeter and arrives at the Cathedral as a Bass Choral Scholar.

Daniel is a tenor, also in his 3rd year at the University of Exeter. We managed to sign him on a “free transfer” from the University Chapel Choir.

Emily (alto), joins us as a post-graduate gap year choral scholar. She is also an alumna of the highly prestigious Genesis Sixteen programme.

Despite having no formal ‘stall’ as such, we will also welcome Hamish who will spend the academic year in Exeter as the Cathedral’s Organ Scholar.

The canticles will be sung to the setting written for King’s College, Cambridge, by Charles Wood. The anthem is “A New Song”, composed by James MacMillan and setting texts from Psalm 96.
