Sculpture Exhibition December 2020

2019 saw our first Schools Exhibition on the theme of ‘Angels in the Cathedral’. During this time entry to the Cathedral was by donation. Footfall increased from 2,000 people to 32,000. The same is planned for December 2020 as we hold our second community engagement exhibition. There will be a limited number of exhibition spots for 2020, but we will offer a prize for the best submission. Make sure you are in the running and get your school, college or education group firmly on the map.

The theme for 2020 will be ‘Guiding Star.’ As well as primary schools, we would really like secondary school and college students to showcase their work. The entry can be from an individual, small group or whole study form or even the whole school.

This can be interpreted in many ways; shooting stars, super stars, star constellations, star of wonder – keep it in your diary and get creative. Contact our education department to show an expression of interest or fill in an application form which you will find on-line. Over 20,000 visitors will see your sculpture, a great opportunity to show-off to family and friends and see the Cathedral full of stars this Christmas!

Saturday 28th November – Friday 8th January 2020

Angels

Exeter Cathedral would like to thank all of those who submitted an angel sculpture for the December Exhibition.
It was a resounding success with many visitors leaving super comments in our feedback book.
It certainly encouraged observations, conversation and reflection from a diverse range of visitors.

We will be holding the event again next year, with a different theme, so do look out for the application from when it appears later in the year.
Contact education @exeter-cathedral.org.uk if you would like to receive information once the new exhibition is finalised.
