You’ll find a vibrant calendar of world-class events, performances, exhibitions and inclusive services to suit all tastes. If you need to relax and recharge, we serve artisan refreshments too. But, for a truly unique experience, why not make a special appointment to see some of the rare and ancient treasures held in our Library & Archive?

Exeter Cathedral receives no regular funding from the Church of England or from the UK Government to support its work, so we ask our visitors to pay a modest admission fee, which is an important part of our annual income. Your visit helps to meet our responsibility to maintain and support one of Europe’s finest cathedrals for future generations.

Seniors and Students: £6.00

Exeter residents (postcodes EX1-EX4): FREE with Residents Card 

 
Visiting for worship or prayer?
There is never a charge to worship or pray in Exeter Cathedral, and everyone is welcome.
 
Carers
Admission for carers who are accompanying sightseers is also free of charge (if you are attending an event then please check with the event organiser).
 
12-Month Pass
UK taxpayers who choose to Gift Aid their admission receive a 12-month pass at no extra charge, meaning you can come back as often as you like.
By choosing to Gift Aid you allow us to claim back additional money on your entry fee at no extra cost to you!
 
Exeter Residents
Exeter Cathedral offers a Residents’ Card, offering people living in the city (postcodes EX1-EX4) free entry to their Cathedral during normal visitor hours. Once you have received your card, simply present it each time you visit the Cathedral. Those living outside the city boundaries who can Gift Aid their admission can pay to visit just once and get an annual pass, or anyone can join the Friends of Exeter Cathedral and so gain a host of other benefits, including talks and discounts at the Cathedral café and shop. Apply for your Residents’ Card here and bring it with you when you next visit. Once you’ve completed your form, please post it with a stamped addressed return envelope to 1 The Cloisters, Exeter, EX1 1HS so we can send your card to you.
 
Only assistance dogs are permitted inside the Cathedral.
