In Conversation with Christopher Southgate

In Conversation with Christopher Southgate

Sunday 12 October | 6:30pm (refreshments served from 6pm) | The Chapter House, Exeter Cathedral

Join us for a conversation with Christopher Southgate covering poetry of grief, joy, and the spiritual search.

As well as a poet, Christopher Southgate has been a research biochemist, a house-husband, a bookseller, and a lay chaplain. He is now Professor of Christian Theodicy at the University of Exeter.

His two newest poetry collections are Losing Ithaca (Shoestring) and Rain falling by the River (Canterbury Press). Chris will reflect on what recent grief has taught him, his enthusiasm for Greta Thunberg and Garry Sobers, and his poetic meditations on biblical scenes and characters.

Join us for a fascinating conversation, followed by a short service of compline.

This is a free event; no booking is required.
