Exeter Philharmonic Choir: Solomon
Saturday 14 March 2026 | 7:30pm
Handel’s oratorio, Solomon, brings to life the deeds and wisdom of King Solomon with drama, grandeur and beauty. The work is full of rich orchestration and exquisite choral writing, including the familiar sparkling movement, ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’.
Performing Solomon in Exeter Cathedral is an exciting ‘first’ for Exeter Philharmonic Choir. No record has been found of any previous performance of the work in the Cathedral since its composition in 1748!
So come and join the choir, soloists and period orchestra for this rare opportunity to experience Handel’s magnificent masterpiece.
