Things to See and Do
Alongside the Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market, you will discover a vibrant calendar of world-class events, performances, exhibitions, family activities and festive services to suit all tastes, at Exeter Cathedral this Christmas.
Christmas Events at Exeter Cathedral:
Christingle
Saturday 30 November 2024, 4pm
All are welcome to Exeter Cathedral’s Christingle Service where we look to Christmas and use the Christingle to tell the story of Jesus. This service will last around 30 minutes and is particularly suitable for young children and their carers. Popular hymns will be sung and the choir will include children who are partaking in the Cathedral’s Be a Chorister for a Day.
Advent Procession
Sunday 1 December 2024, 6pm
Join us for the start of the Advent Season, as we look for the coming, the “adventus” of Jesus at Christmas. The choir will lead us in singing advent carols and anthems in this atmospheric service.
Handel’s Messiah with the Exeter Cathedral Choir
Sunday 8 December 2024, 2:30pm
The Exeter Cathedral Choir will be teaming up with early-music specialists Devon Baroque for a seasonal performance of Handel’s Messiah.
The proceeds from this concert will support the work of the Exeter Cathedral Music Foundation Trust.
