Conservation of service registers

Service Registers are a valuable record of all the services at the Cathedral, including dates, times, occasions, names of celebrants, number of communicants, collections, preachers, texts and other notes.

Now over 100 years old, Service Register volume 5 covers 1915-1925, but sometime after then it lost its protective binding. The volume had fallen into disrepair (pictured above) and was difficult to store and handle safely.

Thanks to the work of bookbinder Rebecca Newman, the register has now been beautifully rebound and is well protected once more.
