Parent/Legal Guardian Consent

If the entrant is under 18, we will require consent from their parent or legal guardian to enter the competition. Please provide the parent/legal guardian's name and email address. A consent form will be emailed to you. 

Please note that this form must be completed and returned to enter the competition. 


Terms and Conditions

1. In entering the competition, you agree to accept and abide by the terms and conditions below.

2. ‘Young Historian of the Year 2026’ (Devon & Cornwall) (the “Competition”) is solely owned by and organised by Exeter Cathedral.

3. In entering for the ‘Young Historian of the Year 2026’ the entrant must be aged 11-18 on the day of register to enter the competition, and either live in or be in education within Devon or Cornwall.

4. Exeter Cathedral will act in accordance with current UK data protection legislation in relation to all personal data.

5. All work must be original and by the entrant and not copied or enhanced by AI.

6. All entries must be in English.

7. Only entries received in the correct format will be accepted to be judged.

8. Amendments cannot be made to entries after they have been
submitted.

9. Only entries received in line with the competition deadlines will be judged.

10. The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant has breached any of these Rules, or made a false declaration on the entry form.

11. The decision of the judges is final.

12. Exeter Cathedral cannot accept responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition.

Data Protection: The information that you provide on this form will be held by Exeter Cathedral as part of our relationship with you. The data will be stored on a secure computer system. Your information will be destroyed when no longer required for our records. The details you provide will only be used by Exeter Cathedral. We will never swap, share or sell your information to a third party.
