In Conversation with Rosie Jackson: ‘Love Leans Over the Table’

Saturday 13 September 2026 | 6pm | The Chapter House, Exeter Cathedral

Dr Rosie Jackson has a background in education and therapy, but her primary love, work-wise, for the last decade has been writing and teaching poetry.

Her poems are widely published in journals and anthologies and her most recent collection, Love Leans over the Table (2023), has been acclaimed for its exploration and celebration of mystical life. Celebrating both divine and human love, her poems move through personal loss and trauma to spiritual awakening and epiphany, finding echoes in the imagined lives of mystics such as Julian of Norwich and other English anchorites, St John of the Cross, John Donne, George Fox, Simone Weil and many more. She will share some of her work, respond to questions and discuss how spiritual experience and faith can find their voice in poetry.

Join us for a fascinating conversation followed by a short service of compline.
