Treasures Exhibition
Discover rare and ancient artefacts in our Treasures Exhibition – a brand-new exhibition space showcasing over 1,000 years of Cathedral history. Set inside our 19th century Pearson Building just above Exeter Cathedral Shop, you will find fascinating treasures from our collections, many on display for the first time:
The Exeter Book: The 10th-century manuscript that is the oldest surviving book of English literature in the world
Exon Domesday: A 1086 manuscript and the only surviving early source for the Great Domesday Book
Foundation Charter: Exeter Cathedral’s original founding document from 1050
Medieval Wax Votives: The only surviving examples of medieval wax votive offerings in England
Other historical gems: Including a 750-year-old wooden elephant carving, a 500-year-old illuminated book of hours and a 200-year-old toothbrush
- Community Artworks: Modern pieces created in collaboration with the local community

Visiting outside of our tour times? You can still enjoy an unguided visit and wander the exhibition at your own pace. Our guides will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

A fascinating visit to the Treasures Exhibition is included in standard admission into Exeter Cathedral.

Seniors (60+) and Students: £10.50
Children under 18 (within a family group): FREE

Exeter College and University of Exeter Students: FREE with Welcome Card
Lift access available. Whilst the exhibition is on the first floor and can be reached by a 30-step staircase, lift access is also available. To request lift access, please ask your Tour Guide upon arrival.
