Lantern Rooms Lates: Concert in Exeter Cathedral Café
Thursday 29 October | 7pm | Exeter Cathedral’s Chapter House Café
We are pleased to host Lantern Rooms Lates – an intimate evening of music in our medieval Chapter House Café. Expect mood lighting, high ceilings, great acoustics and the sound of Exeter Cathedral’s very own grand piano paired with three local singer-songwriters.
The evening is curated by Lantern Room’s Benny G and will feature him playing the piano for three upcoming local singers with unique voices and songwriting.
Olivia Olwyn – one of the richest soul voices we’ve heard, she sings like she’s walked straight out of a 70s Detroit recording session. She’s been building her reputation for incredible performances with her duo & band. This is an opportunity to see a different side of her music.
April Martin – April commands an incredible range and such a natural tone that when you listen to her sing it just feels right. She’s worked with Benny G (Lantern Rooms) & John Matthias (Radiohead) to release her fresh sounding EP exploring RnB & triphop tones with some stunning melodies. Expect some huge vocals.
Kyra Warburton – new to the scene and about to release some very exciting trip-hop influenced songs, Kyra’s voice is incredibly smooth with a hint of fragility, akin to Beth Gibbons of Portishead fame. Kyra’s music explores some deep themes and her lyrics match the sensitivity of her vocal performances.
Doors are 7pm | music starts at 7:30pm | please arrive on time as this will be a seated concert
