Remembering HRH Prince Philip at Exeter Cathedral

At Exeter Cathedral, we’ve set aside space, and extended our personal prayer opening hours, to allow as many people as possible to visit safely, to reflect, pray and give thanks for the life of Prince Philip.

Private prayer & reflection open hours
The Cathedral is open to all for private prayer and reflection from 11am-5pm, Monday-Saturday.

Book of condolence
To help keep everyone safe, there will not be a book of condolence in the Cathedral. Instead, we encourage you to leave your message on the Church of England’s national online book of condolence at https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-his-royal-highness-prince-philip

Floral tributes
In line with the wishes of the Royal Family and with Exeter City Council public safety guidelines, we ask that you consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes in memory of The Duke of Edinburgh.

Memorial service
A special memorial service will be held at the Cathedral on Thursday 15 April at 4:30pm, which will be broadcast live on our Facebook page. Please note that due to space restrictions and coronavirus safety measures, we will unfortunately be unable to allow public entry to the Cathedral for this service.
