Summer Music Series: Stella Maris Trio

Summer Music Series: Stella Maris Trio

Saturday 20 August 2022, 2:00pm

We’re delighted that the Stella Maris Trio will be performing on Saturday 20 August at 2pm. Stella Maris Trio is an ensemble formed by three professional musicians living in Devon and Somerset.

The musicians have an extensive performing experience in the UK and abroad. The combination of two different voice types, soprano and mezzo-soprano accompanied by piano/organ, gives a rich range of concert repertoire to perform, including various arias and duets for singers and piano solo pieces. Although working collectively as an ensemble, each member is also represented as a soloist. As well as performing concerts, the trio created “Orfeo’s Illusion” – their own interpretation of Gluck’s opera Orfeo ed Euridice. Stella Maris Trio have participated in Teignmouth and Dawlish music festivals and performed in distinguished venues including Exeter Cathedral, Blenheim Palace and various Oxford colleges.

Programme:

The Call: British & Ukrainian Music: A selection of Britain and Ukraine’s finest vocal and piano repertoire, including Sam Baker’s original arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs.
