2019 saw our first Schools Exhibition on the theme of ‘Angels in the Cathedral’. During this time entry to the Cathedral was by donation. Footfall increased from 2,000 people to 32,000. The same is planned for December 2021 as we hold our second community engagement exhibition. There will be a limited number of exhibition spots for 2021, but we will offer a prize for the best submission. Make sure you are in the running and get your school, college or education group firmly on the map.
The theme for 2021 will be ‘Guiding Star.’ As well as primary schools, we would really like secondary school and college students to showcase their work. The entry can be from an individual, small group, whole study form or even a whole school effort. There are no parameters in size or weight, only that the exhibit needs to manageable enough to be moved by one person.
This can be interpreted in many ways; shooting stars, super stars, star constellations, star of wonder, light and shadow, glitter and sparkle, pathways and maps or a beacon of hope – keep it in your diary and get creative.
Over 20,000 visitors will see your sculpture, a great opportunity to show-off to family and friends and see the Cathedral full of stars this coming Christmas!
Exhibition open from Saturday 28th November – Wednesday 5th January 2020
