Lunchtime Concert: Peterborough Male Voice Choir

Directed by William Prideaux, Peterborough Male Voice Choir has collaborated with world-renowned performance partners including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, legendary soprano Leslie Garret, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and the BBC Concert Orchestra in spectacular venues from Truro Cathedral to the Sage Gateshead, regularly featuring on BBC local and national radio.

In 2011 Peterborough Male Voice Choir founded music education charity Peterborough Sings! together with women’s choir Peterborough Voices and Peterborough Youth Choir, forming an organisation of over 200 singers with an extensive programme of outreach work, including delivering the Arts Council England-funded Peterborough Singing Strategy in primary schools.

In 2017 Peterborough Male Voice Choir won the male voice category at the Mrs Sunderland Festival and at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, where the adjudicators described their performance as “vocal magic”. In 2018 they won the male choir class at the North Wales Choral Festival.

In 2018 Peterborough Male Voice Choir hosted the 2018 Association of British Choral Directors’ Male Choir Conference which was attended by delegates from over 30 male choirs. Their phenomenally successful pop-up projects Sing for Heroes and Men United in Song have introduced hundreds of men to the joys of group singing.
