Exeter Cathedral once had a series of magnificent decorated ceramic tile pavements of the late 13th and 14th centuries.
Although much has been lost or worn out, there still remains some beautiful examples of medieval tiles. These have proved crucial in helping to understand the medieval tile-makers’ craft in the region.
The talk will include illustrations of the surviving examples, and explain how they relate to other tiles in the region.
