Children and Young People: Worship for Families

We welcome children at all our services and provide especially for their needs at the 10.00 Choral Eucharist on Sunday. Families worship together for the first part of the service and during the Gloria children leave for organised activities in the Chapter House, returning to join the congregation for communion.

Newcomers and visitors are encouraged to take their seats near the front left-hand side of the Cathedral where other families can welcome you.

Crèche

For babies and children up 4 years is available on Sunday mornings during the Eucharist. Parents may leave their children in the care of those on duty, or are welcome to stay with their children if they wish.

Cloister Club

Held for children aged from 4 to 12+ years. We work on a variety of activities connected with the Bible and general Christian themes.
All adult helpers are recruited in accordance with the Cathedral’s Safeguarding Policy (more information).

Older children

Children of secondary school age often remain in the service (with opportunities to participate as servers). A young people’s group (CYPEX) meets throughout the year for social events.
