Appointment of Chapter Canons

Two new Canons have been appointed to the governing body of Exeter Cathedral, its Chapter.
Jenny Ellis CB is a senior leader from the public sector, who was the first chief executive of the UK Supreme Court. She has an extensive background in finance and corporate affairs in what was formally the Lord Chancellor’s Department, now the Ministry of Justice. She has a number of voluntary roles, including as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board for Exeter prison., a Trustee of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Honorary Treasurer of the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship.
Dr Trevor Jones is former Archdeacon of Hertford in the diocese of St Albans and has extensive experience in clergy and lay training. He is a trustee of the St Luke’s Foundation.
Both Jenny and Trevor live and worship in Devon.
They were installed in a service in the Cathedral by the Bishop of Exeter, Bishop Robert. He said: “I am delighted to install Jenny and Trevor as Chapter Canons. Both bring considerable experience and insight to the role, and will support the Cathedral Chapter as it moves forward.”
