£3 Million Fabric Appeal

As part of the Third Millennium Campaign, £3 million is needed for a number of projects both within the Cathedral itself, and on the other historic buildings and environs of the Cathedral Close.

The imposing sight of the West Front is most people's first view of the Cathedral. Work has now begun on a major programme of conservation work on the image screen. Within the Cathedral, our stonemasons work tirelessly every day to maintain the fabric of the building through the repair and replacement of the stonework. Also, within the Cathedral Close can be found the best example of a row of medieval urban houses in the South West. The Cathedral and the Close properties require conservation while in our care so we can hand them down intact for future generations.
