At Exeter Cathedral we are privileged to be custodians of the earliest example in history of the translation and printing of the entire Bible in a Native American language and, therefore, the first Bible to be printed in North America.
The Cathedral collection also holds prayer books, gospels, and other works in various Native American languages. Exeter Cathedral's library and archives have books, documents and manuscripts dating from as far back as c AD970.
The Third Millennium Campaign has been launched to preserve three areas of Cathedral life: to raise funds for a new library and archives with new interpretation facilities; to restore and preserve the Cathedral, which dates back to 1050, and the mediaeval properties in its care; to support the music tradition by providing scholarships for gifted children and to restore the magnificent 1665 organ.
Your help is needed. By making a tax-deductible donation* of $500 or more, via CAF America, you will be able to support Exeter Cathedral and ensure its survival for another millennium. To download more information, please click here.
Thank you for your generosity.
