The Visitors' Officer is responsible for the execution of arrangements and facilities for visitors to the Cathedral.

Within this broad framework lies a ministry of welcome effected by the Cathedral Stewards and the organisation of Cathedral visits and tours. In order to maintain the demand for these and stimulate further demand within the local community, the Visitors' Officer encourages and maintains close links with Devon County Council, Exeter City Council, various tourist authorities, tour operators, language schools and special interest groups.

In the wider community, the Visitors' Officer is regularly in communication with other cathedrals and churches.

The Visitors' Officer works closely with the Cathedral Education Officer to offer activities for children and young people who visit the Cathedral.

The entrance to the Cathedral Shop is in the south quire aisle. It is open Monday to Saturday 9.30 am to 4.30 pm except when services are taking place. The shop stocks a wide variety of books, cassettes, compact discs, postcards and gifts.
