The Preservation Trust was formed in 1978 to raise money for the restoration of the Cathedral's West Front image screen and the South Tower. These two main projects have been completed; however the Trust has undertaken responsibilty for the continuing maintenance of the Cathedral and especially for its
FABRIC AND WINDOWS
although it may be used for any purpose in connection with the Cathedral at the absolute discretion of the Trustees. The Trustees seek financial support, not only from members of the Church of England, but also from all those who recognize the need to preserve this great architectural masterpiece.

The Exeter Music Foundation Trust was founded in 1987 to raise a capital sum for investment to provide a sufficient annual return to maintain the Cathedral's music foundation in perpetuity, regardless of all other Cathedral management decisions. The Trust is for the provision and maintenance of:
CHOIRS, MUSIC, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS AND CHORAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
The Cathedral Choir is staffed by a resident organist and by part-time organists, male singers (Lay Vicars and Choral Scholars) and choristers. Most choristers (boys and girls) are boarding pupils at the Cathedral School and the Trust incorporates a secondary appeal for choristerships to provide 50% of their boarding fees. The current cost of a choristership is £25,000.
